I’m currently reading “The Summer Place” by Jennifer Weiner because my sister recommended it when I asked her for some beach read ideas and it is currently mid-June which is 100% beach read season. Humble brag: I got to go to Cape Cod last summer, so I’m enjoying that this book is set there and in New York which is one of my all time favorite cities.
I’ve also got “The Lacuna” by Barbara Kingsolver on the go. I have about 100 pages left and I tackle it when I have time, but it’s got long chapters and my son is out of school for summer so…long story short: my spring read spilled over into beach read season and has taken a back seat.
My book club is currently reading “All Fours” by Miranda July and I am aching to get started on it. I just listened to the New Yorker Critics at Large podcast episode about it, skipping the spoiler moment, because they had me at “modern mid-life crisis.” As a millenial I am 100% click-bait for anything talking about the “modern mid-life crisis” in which I find myself currently embroiled as the clock ticks down towards 40 and my finances look as good as they did in my twenties but my ass does not.
